Garlanding India: The Original

In 2014, Uday Damodaran, Professor of Finance at XLRI Jamshedpur solo-drove his Renault Duster car across India over exactly 60 days from April 26 2014 to June 25 2014. The route traced the boundaries of the country, and therefore the ride was called ‘Gafrlanding India’. It covered 23 states. At most of the locations Uday was hosted by volunteer hosts- most of them strangers to him- who provided him dinner, bed, breakfast the next morning and packed lunch for the road, till he reached the next location, and host

The ride was used to collect funds for 22 NGOs doing work in varied areas (education, health, safety of children, wildlife, environment) across the length and breadth of India. The funds were collected through the assistance of a nodal NGO, Pragya.
